I created this card for my cousin Mick, who lives in the Monterey area. He raises bees and harvests honey in the Corral de Tierra area. He gave me a jar of honey at Thanksgiving and it is so tasty.
The card was created using the Tim Holtz birdcage die. I cut it out of corrugated cardboard and painted it with Tulip puffy paint tinted with a little reinker. I sprinkled a little glitter on the wet paint before I heated it with a heat gun to "puff" it. I was really happy with the distressed look. I started using puffy paint after reading a blog by Paulien van den Bosch. She uses this technique often and I love her work. You can click on the link on my favorite blogs or visit her blog here: www.paulienvandenbosch.blogspot.com
I then added ribbons and embellishments and a handmade paper flower. The stamped bees, of course, are to honor Mick's bee raising skills. Thanks so much Mick, the honey is fabulous!
