Advent Calendar Class at Paper Tales

Halloween is over, let the holiday crafting begin! I will be teaching how to create this Christmas advent calendar at Paper Tales in the Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego on Sunday, November 17th and would love it for you to join me! You will learn how to create these adorable boxes with drawers that hold little treats for the 25 days of Christmas.

I just love advent calendars. When I was a little girl my mom would present us with one of the flat pictures calendars with doors that held chocolate and  my siblings and I would look forward to that chocolate each day! A few years back I created a calendar for my girlfriend  Lorraine and filled it with little vintage and new Christmas crafting supplies. Unbeknownst to me, she sent it in to Somerset Magazine and they wrote a feature article on it. It was such a highlight in my artistic career, and I'm forever grateful to Lorraine for submitting it. So this wonderful tradition is near and dear to my heart, and I would love to share it with you! You can find out more information on my class on the Paper Tales website.

I wish you all a wonderful start to the holiday creative season. May you find many an inspiration and may you not get carpal tunnel syndrome from all of your pinning!

Happy Pink Saturday to  you wonderful blog party visitors who are visiting here!

This is so pretty, it makes me cold even looking at it . . .winter is coming. Love the snowflakes and the music sheets.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

That is so pretty, being in Kansas I don't think I can make it!!! A few years ago I started doing this for my granddaughters and they LOVE it, I do it instead of stockings. They have something to look forward to for 24 days.

Marti, The advent box is stunning. I adore it and the idea. I will be over to see if it is above my crafting ability. I am a challenged crafter.

How awesome that Lorraine had a hand in getting you published. A crowning moment for sure.

We live in the mountains and there are very few neighbors. Most of them are summer residents only. At night it is pitch black...no streetlights. The children in our mountains go to their churches or to town. I miss the fun of giving out candy too.

Happy weekend Marti and happy crafting.

I'd love to be able to take your class, but the plane ticket cost to get me there might be too much! ha ha! It's an adorable project!!

I read you broke your hand while jogging! Oh my...we are fellow sisters!! I, too, crashed in May 2012 (on a very slightly uneven sidewalk...while running) and fractured a bone in my left hand! I wore a splint all summer. I did continue to run, however, during that time....but just up hills! I walked on flat surfaces and going down the hills. I took that time to work on intervals! ha ha!! Actually, I just finished my first half marathon 2 weeks ago today...I'm still on a running high from that!!

It was great to visit your blog...and thank you for stopping by mine! HPS !!! Dana
